Think. Think again. And then think some more.

Just Say No

June 30th 2008 08:49

A cute cartoon I saw on stumble upon that I like very much.

Be a sheep, not a goat.

A follower, not a leader.

A believer, not a thinker.

Okay, okay, I know people are going to accuse me of having it all wrong but if that's not what the Genesis account of Creation is teaching, then what is?

haha thats a good one!
ive always wondered about the linking of "sex" and "knowledge", like was the tree of knowledge just the tree of sexual knowledge or all knowledge?
it is strange to me to boil all that is important in life down to the discovery of ones sexuality . . . although perhaps it was a vital myth at times where reproduction was paramount?

Well the official story is that it was the "tree of knowledge of good and evil".

Once Adam and Eve ate from the tree, the first thing they suddenly "knew" was that they were starkers and they became very ashamed.

Hence one can only deduce that nakedness and as an extension, sexuality is evil.

Oh that's an interesting idea you put forward too. Not thought that way about it before, I always just put it down to control.

haha, you know for all their various idiosyncracies, that's the thing that all these "great" religions have in common- guilt and shame. Actually that's a quote! It goes something like "all religions are just guilt with different holidays".

hah. can't remember who said it, it was a woman, i'll have to go search it.

Bible Study class with a twist Morgan.

Great cartoon! I love it....short, sweet, and sums up so much.

Hi Winston, yeah Martin Luther was who I had in mind when I wrote that. Well him and the Creationist Museum that condemns "man's reasoning" and praises 'god's word".

Hi Jeff, good to see we are on the same page again, haha.
