Things That Disappeared From My House When My Flatmates Moved Out
August 3rd 2008 09:14
*2x bottles of intensive care hair conditioner (I stocked up when they were on special- hey that shits expensive).
*1x almost full bottle of wooden floor cleaner (I mean really, how cheap can you get?)
*1x almost empty bottle of Spray n' Wipe (oh, that cheap!)
*1x replacement head for the mop.
*All my favourite spices from my special spice cupboard (I have two spice cupboards, one is communal and one isn't. They cleaned out the non-communal cupboard- except for a half-full packet of hot paprika, which wasn't even mine to begin with.
The most annoying thing is I didn't discover the missing conditioner until I needed it.
Jerks.

Why do employees steal from their employers, same empty headed sense of entitlement.
At least in your case, they didn't come back and ask for a second shot at your property or try to sue you because of that sense of entitlement.

I tried to explain that generally bills get split according to how many people are living in the house, not how many computers are in use. But they wouldn't stop grumbling so I relented and paid half the bill for the three month period they were here, even though there was two of them and only one of me. They are back in Europe now, bless their stingy little hearts.
Never, ever share a house with a couple; they use twice as many resources, make twice as much noise, hog the TV and the bathroom but somehow think the fact that they share a bedroom means they only have to pay the bills of one person.
Jerks.

you missed your BIG chance... you should have reported them to the airport authorities as smugglers... and possessing stolen goods... they would have gotten their A Holes probed good and proper, and probably, hopefully, they would have found something besides the usual organic material that substitutes as a great metaphor for their sense of morality!

And, get a deposit to cover their pilfering or unpaid share of the bills. You can return it when the dust settles after they move out.
I had a room mate that stole all of the lamps and wall decorations when he moved out, along with the contents of my change jar containing several hundred bucks.
Fortunately, years later he married my sister and I got my stuff back - how odd is that?

I can only conclude they did it to piss me off. Obviously it worked.

sometimes i would come back weeks later for final cleanings and inspections and help organise paperwork and replacement tenants for people i liked . . . other times i would lift light bulbs and extension cords and washing line pegs just out of spite!

If you live anywhere near Kelowna B.C Canada I'd be happy to pop over with some supplies to help you restock your cupboards.
Cheers!

Hi Deanna, I'm not really that upset about the missing stuff, I just find it amusing and irritating how petty people can be.
I don't live anywhere near Kelowna but I did once date a boy from there many years ago. Thanks for bringing up a few sweet memories!
