The Palin Chronicles, Episode 2: David Letterman Edition

October 8th 2008 02:47
Okay, this is the second edition of my ongoing series in The Palin Chronicles, other wise known as Why Sarah Palin Should Not Be Allowed Anywhere Near The White House. It comes courtesy of The Late Show with David Letterman.

I will admit that this is bias as all hell but as Sarah would say doggone it, it's also really funny. It's satire. And satire, as we all know works best when it has an element of truth.

Take it away, Dave:

I saw Tim Robbins on The Daily Show:

"Can't we elect someone smart for once?"

Between the debate and those TV interviews, it's terrifying...

Tell me about guys. I am so angry with the way McCain is now running this campaign. I know my posts make it seem like I am an ardent Obama fan, but the fact is I am not. I am just really, really anti-McCain and anti-Palin for the lies and smears they are spreading. I don't care which Party they represent. Even putting aside Palin's obvious lack of qualifications for the job, the way they are acting is childish and they do not deserve to be voted in because of it. Fact is, they are putting populism ahead of policies and showing complete disdain for their rivals.

I just watched the latest debate. McCain called Obama "that one" and then refused to shake his hand.

nice editing Dave!
gee that segment really hammered her hard!
i dont think ive even seen him go at Bush in such an extended way!
funny thing is they really didnt need to "twist" her words in a montage, they could play whole unedited sentences that make her look like a buffoon!

Oh my. What's most scary is that although this is taking the piss, it's probably closer to the truth than we'd all prefer.

It's time for the republicans to retire.

Hey Morgan, I was thinking the exact same thing. Letterman was relentless in taking the piss out of Bush and also Clinton before him (do you remember the Clinton and Mcdonald's fries segment?), but never have I seen him so blantantly state that a particular politician should just disappear from the spectrum altogether. It's not just taking the piss, it's a real protest. That's why I love it.

Hi Neems, as Homer Simpson says, It's funny 'cause it's true. I don't know if they should all retire (that would give the Dems too much power and that's kinda scary too), but I really think a major overhaul of that party is in order. A couple of weeks ago I thought McCain had it in the bag. Now, it's looking like Obama all the way. I'm so so happy to be wrong as i really think a victory would give them a feeling of invincibility. I think this could be the kick up the backside the Republicans need to get back on track.

I resemble that sentiment.

Aaaaghh! It cut him off! What else came off?

Man how angry is he? I love it when I see people reach their bullshit quota....he just can't take it anymore.

And that poor old woman. Of course people who love Palin would accuse the bank that forgave Annie Polk's loan of being "socialists", you know that right?

That first video was hilarious! The one Morgan added just made me angry! Though, most of what I hear of Palin's background does as well. The sad thing is, most people just think what they say about Palin is funny, while they believe all the crap about Obama.
