Orblers, Can I Please Clear This Up? The Wizard Teacher Is Not A Hoax
May 9th 2008 00:24
From the Oxford Dictionary:
haox v decieve jokingly, n joking deception.
So does a news story that is still been reported on qualify as a hoax?
When I first came across the story I didn't quite believe it. So I looked up the original source here Really Long Link a local Florida news service.
That report did not have the school's version of events so I went here
Really Long Link another Florida news service.
This is what they reported:
“Tampa Bay’s 10 talked to the assistant superintendent with the Pasco County School District who said it wasn’t just the wizardry and that Piculas had other performance issues, including “not following lesson plans” and allowing students to play on unapproved computers.”
So, according to that news report the reporter spoke to the school district and they said it wasn't just the wizardry. Note, not just the wizardry. But wizardry was involved.
I included all of this in my original post.
The school is now disputing that the term "wizardry" ever came up- although they do still cite the magic trick as one of the reasons he was sacked. However, this does not make the story a hoax. It is not fabricated and the issues are still been investigated.
I am still following the story. If the teacher is found to have been lying or retracts his wizardry accusation, or if the school district denies that they spoke to Tampa Bay's 10 and mentioned the word 'wizardry', then I will update and correct my original post, until then, can we just try and have a little fun again?

Jeff, I agree. The ridiculous thing is that the word 'wizardry' ever came up at all. I'm curious to see if the teacher's story ever changes. So far he has stuck to his guns.
