Why I Hate Heather Mills (she ain't messing with no broke...)
March 18th 2008 03:24
Okay, so ‘hate’ is a strong word. I don’t really hate her, but I sure don't like the way she has acted since she finished with the best Beatle.
When they split Mills took exception to the fact that McCartney selfishly wouldn’t give her the 40% or so of the fortune he has amassed over his long and glorious career (just don’t mention Wings ok? Shhhh). Oh he did offer her £15.8m but she rightly scoffed at this pittance and took him to court where she represented herself in order to “save a fortune”.
Look, I’m all for equal partnerships in marriage, but let’s not forget that McCartney made the bulk of his fortune before Mills was even born. It’s not like she has been with him through thick and thin, up and down, the good times and bad times…
The court awarded her £24.3m and she has graciously decided not to appeal the decision “because it’s not worth it”. Oh, not because £24.3m is a lot of money then? I’m sorry, but all this woman does is reinforce the stereotype that younger, attractive women only marry, older wealthier men because they are gold diggers. And that makes me mad. Sing it again, Kanye.
But what really infuriates me is that this is what Mills said on the court steps after the court ordered McCartney to pay their daughter Beatrice £35,000 a year:
"Beatrice only gets £35,000 a year - so obviously she's meant to travel B class while her father travels A class, but obviously I will pay for that."
Sorry, what? Only £35,000 pounds? Only? Please keep in mind Beatrice is only four. Please keep in mind that this does not include her nanny and school fees. Or the gifts that her father will shower on her. Or the one hell of a motherfucking trust fund she will be cashing in when she turns 21.
How can anyone refer to that amount of money as only? What an insult. What a slap in the face to those parents out there who feed, educate and raise an entire family on less than half that sum.
Why are people so greedy, can anyone tell me? Why do they go around screwing each other over and demanding that the world owes them something?
Well, let me tell you something Heather, in the words of Mark Twain, “the world owes you nothing. It was here first.”

I didn't mention it because it has no relevance.
It doesn't give her the right to be so greedy and once again I will say, it doesn't mean the world, or Paul, owes her anything.

Just like that corpse Anna Nicolle Smith married. OF COURSE she's a gold digger. But he'd have to be insane to not see that from the start.
Hopefully these young, blonde things are worth it... Yeah, right.

i think she alleges that Paul was abusive and if so perhaps a criminal case or civil suit for specific medical or psychological injuries and associated pain and suffering should have been pursued (although im sure she wouldve got nowhere near 24.3 million pounds)
as long as Paul is financially caring for his child and being available as a parent that is really where his responsibility ends in my eyes.
however if he chose to marry without a solid and specific pre-nup i agree with dQuarters and he probably knew she was a gold-digger and used the promise of him money to court her . . . thats his own self esteem issue and if the judge rules that he owes her money than i guess he does . . . a little gratitude wouldnt go astray though hey?
thanks for the interesting post!

I just don't understand why she couldn't take the original amount Paul offered her and why she had the nerve to grumble about the amount she won in the end. She just makes all women look bad. And she has truly lost the plot.
Morgan- I don't think she was misquoted. This is stuff she said immediately after leaving the courtroom. And yes, of course Paul should look after the kid, which he is doing but she is still complaining about that.
I don't think Paul has grumbled about the amount the judge awarded her. It's less than a quarter of what she asked for. I think he'd be pretty pleased actually.
But of course, he keeps these things to himself.

The one leg thing is irrelevant, surely. That's not an excuse to fight for more money.

I'm sure she is quite a lovely person deep down, but it just concerns me that we, as a society, assign so much of a person's worth to how much money they have. Capitalism rewards those with money, no matter how they got it. That is the truth, so people will do whatever they have to, to acquire wealth. And more often than not, it is the quick means they attempt. Hence we have a woman who sued MacDonalds for millions when she spilt hot coffee on herself when driving, a judge who tried to sue his dry cleaners for millions when they lost his pants and an ex wife who tried to sue her ex for 100 million pounds simply because they got a divorce and he has a lot of money.
Heather Mills is merely a product of the society of which she is a part.
I really should have put all of this in my post huh?

So on that count...they stand on equal footing.
I am appalled at this woman's actions and words. Even the judge who awarded her her 'pittance' is appalled by her reasons why she feels she is entitled to Paul's money.
Read this link;
I don't hate Millls (I never get that emotionally involved with celebrities) but I understand why you used the word. At first I thought...hey, great...Paul's in love, she seems to have an identity of her own, she's strong and independant (emotionally and financially)...Paul's children are just jealous (they insisted that she was with their father only for his money).
And shit happens. I actuallly thought that the age difference got 'tiring' for Paul...that maybe he's content to sit home in front of the TV and smoke his pipe or whatever...and she's still in party mode!
I really didn't care about any of this until I saw her 'victory speech' outside the court room.
So many times she has claimed to be an indenpendant woman... human...done things her way...and now she claims that she can't carry on without the "lifestyle she has become accustomed to".
Oh puh-lease.
As you and others say...if she had been there through the thick and thin times, through the pre Beatles times...then yes, okay...she has a 'right' to some of the fortune amassed because unconditional support is invaluable but...what she's asking for, sounds like...to me... fees for sexual services rendered.

There was some confusion about the tickets and they had a bit of a friendly discussion with the lady beside them over who belonged where - just like the rest of us, all very normal. They were sitting in seats just like mine, not in some fancy roped-off royal box. No one gawked at them or bothered them, we all just enjoyed the excellent performance.
When the show ended, Sir Paul did a nice and gallant thing - he was first on his feet for the well-deserved standing ovation for Dawn French.
The next day, the papers announced that Heather Mills was pregnant.
It was all happiness then.

My only comment to this has to be that it would have been more honest of her to just stand on the street corner. I could have respected her more...

DuskDevi- I agree with you on all counts, especially about never getting heavily involved with celebrities. My interest in this case is not in Mills as a celebrity, but in Mills as a person who was determined to achieve the fast track to fortune and who in the process completely lost touch with reality. What kind of parallel universe is someone living in when they can scoff at 15 million British pounds?
But wouldn't you know it? My only article to date on a celebrity has given me my most popular post thus far.
Jill- The calm before the storm perhaps? Don't sweat the double post. I just deleted one of them.
Liila-Ouch!!!

I'm wondering why you're so concerned with Heather's affect on the perception of women. The only people this could realistically concern are rich men, or rich lesbians I suppose. In which case, I'm sure they're on the lookout for golddiggers regardless. And if not... pfft. Well I just don't care. They're rich. Spread the wealth, I always say. The only pity I feel for them is for their lack of judgment, but the same could be said of Heather.
To me, the biggest injustice Paul ever faced was when Michael Jackson snatched up the Beatles catalogue.

I have always wondered why libel suits were out of control in America, why people were suing each other, left right and centre. Finally it has dawned on me. It's capitalism in action, reaching its own logical conclusion. If "economic freedom" means the freedom to pursue wealth and wealth=respect, then people will naturally try to achieve that. Now they may not have any of the special talents that me may normally associate with success but one thing they do have is a darn good lawyer.
I"m going to write a real article about this.

She was only married for 4 years, what did she do to help earn or preserve Sir Paul's Money? It's been evident from the start that Sir Paul is willing to care for Beatrice, so I wonder what the unstable, tactless, graceless Ms. Mills will do with her new lottery winnings?
It would be so much easier to have some sympathy if Ms. Mills herself did not do such an appallingly fine job of incriminating herself.
Shame on her!

Why does she hate attention so much? She's such a nice person! Paul McCartney was a leech, who were the Beatles anyway? I bet you didn't know that she's done loads of charity work ,he alyways tried to restrict her charity work too!
He's such a gold digger poor innocent Heather how is she supposed to feed her family on only a few million a year eh?? eh??
A few famous quotes from Paul:
"I hate charity"
"One legged people make me sick"
"I love money...Especially heathers money!"
"i love fame"
